We like to start our dermal filler appointments with an extensive consult. Try to arrive make-up free and we will take some pictures. While looking at the pictures, we can discuss your concerns and wishes.
We will explain how your face is adapting to the aging process and what options are available for you to do that will keep your face looking the same, just more well-rested. We believe everyone is beautiful without treatments, and having dermal fillers is just an enhancement.
After designing a custom treatment plan, if you are having the treatment done that day, your injector will thoroughly cleanse your face, apply numbing cream if needed, or give a short acting dental block if necessary for a lip treatment. The injections typically take less than one hour.
After your dermal filler injections, it is important to avoid touching the area, except for washing your face. Avoid dental work for 4 weeks, as well as vaccines. We do not recommend traveling for a few days due to possible swelling, and any need for a recheck. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise and hot tubs or saunas for 48 hours.
There is a possibility of bruising, and so we recommend avoiding ibuprofen, fish oil, baby aspirin and excessive alcohol for a week before your treatment. You can start taking Arnica tablets prior to your treatment if you wish. We do have a laser to help with bruising should that be an issue.
We use Allergan dermal fillers, which are the highest quality of fillers out there. They will last for 12-24 months or longer. Similar brands are indicated for 6-12 months.
