Depending on the level of treatment provided, most patients find the treatment well tolerated. Your practitioner may use cooling air and recommend numbing cream to help ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible.
We always recommend using medical grade skincare prior to your investment in a laser treatment. Having healthy skin will reduce your healing time and improve your results.
Results vary depending on your treatment goals. For the day following your treatment, your skin may appear red and, depending on your level of treatment, you may see the small micro dots called mends where the laser was applied. As the micro zones heal, they will darken and feel rough. Between days 3-5, the mends will slough off, revealing the renewed skin beneath.
Results will last indefinitely but our skin continues to age and get damaged by UV rays. There is not one treatment of any laser that will last forever.
MOXI is a non-ablative, fractionated laser that is so gentle on your skin that you don’t need a long recovery time. Some ablative lasers require a bit of downtime to heal. MOXI lets you get back to daily living and makes it easy to fit into your schedule. A little bit of swelling and redness is typical for any laser treatment, so it’s best to not come to get your laser treatment when you’re headed to a big event that night.
Because this is a non-ablative fractionated treatment, the post care regimen is simple. Wear a moisturizing physical sunscreen and stay out of the sun. You may wear makeup 24 hours after your treatment.
The price of MOXI treatments at our Des Moines-area clinic and spa varies from person to person, depending on the size of your treatment area and the number of sessions needed. We’ll provide you with a personalized estimate at your consultation so you know what to expect in terms of pricing.
This will depend on your treatment goals and level of damage. Most patients receive 3-4 corrective treatments, then often will sign up for regular maintenance treatments throughout the year.
